The board of the Dutch Angelman Syndrome Association (vASN) is formed by four highly motivated volunteers.

Chairman: Prof. dr. R. M. Heethaar (rob.heethaar@angelmansyndroom.nl)
Rob Heethaar has worked in the medical sector for more than 42 years, of which nearly two years at the Mayo Clinic, USA and the last 32 years as professor / department head medical technology and medical physics at the Universities of Twente and Utrecht, the University Medical Centre Utrecht, the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the VU Medical Centre. He has a granddaughter with AS. Rob can be contacted for everything that concerns the association.

Secretary (temporary): Ing. J.S. Klein (johan.klein@angelmansyndroom.nl)
Johan Klein is (temporary) secretary and freelance IT specialist. He is responsible for the management of the vASN website, and for maintaining contacts with international associations, universities and pharmaceutical companies. He has a son (Huub) with AS.

Treasurer and Privacy Officer (for AVG): V. Giurgi (violeta.giurgi@angelmansyndroom.nl)
Violeta Giurgi is Treasurer and responsible for the member administration. Violeta audits - in the role of Privacy Officer - the administration and checks if it complies to the AVG. The vASN uses e-bookkeeping for member administration and this platform complies with privacy legislations in the Netherlands (see https://www.e-boekhouden.nl/avg). She has a daughter (Anna) with AS.

Some (former) members are honorary members and the vASN is very grateful for their activities in the past.
